The new ShopRite in South Plainfield which is expected to open next month is looking to fill hundreds of full- and part-time positions.

The state-of-the-art supermarket, currently under construction in the Hadley Commons Plaza, 6781 Hadley Road, is looking to hire an additional 200 employees ahead of the store’s anticipated opening this spring. Applications are being accepted for positions including bookkeeper, cake decorator, manager, cashiers, clerks and other team members for departments across the store.

The store hiring center, located at 6303 Hadley Road, in the same shopping center, is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Interested candidates can visit the hiring center to fill out an application or apply online at www.shoprite.com/careers.

The jobs offer flexible hours and a variety of cross-training to provide employees with the knowledge, skills and tools to work as a team throughout the store.

“We are excited to build our team for the new ShopRite of Hadley Commons," Rick Saker, senior vice president of Saker ShopRites, said in a statement. "Saker ShopRites has a long history of commitment to the communities where our stores operate, and we look forward to bringing this brand new, state-of-the-art ShopRite to our neighbors."

The new ShopRite will replace the ShopRite at 1306 Centennial Ave. in Piscataway, according to a spokesperson for ShopRite. No date for the closing has been announced.

In South Plainfield, there is another ShopRite at 3600 Park Ave. in the Golden Acres Shopping Center. That ShopRite will remain open, the spokesperson said.

ShopRite of Hadley Commons is owned by Saker ShopRites, a family-owned company made up of third- and fourth-generation grocers with stores in Middlesex, Monmouth, Ocean, Somerset and Mercer counties.
