High school graduations begin Friday in Warren County
Members of the Class of 2024 at two schools in Warren County will receive their diplomas during graduation ceremonies on Friday, May 17. The Warren Early College High School graduation will begin at 6 p.m. in the Warren County Middle School gym, located at 118 Campus Dr., Warrenton. The speaker will be Dr. S. Warrenton proposed budget includes 5-cent tax increase
The proposed fiscal year 2024-25 budget for the town of Warrenton includes a 5-cent tax increase, bringing the tax rate to 75 cents per $100 valuation. “Due to reductions in anticipated revenues, the budget reflects cost-cutting to offset the rise in typical operating costs due to inflation,” Town Administrator Robert Davie told Warrenton commissioners as he presented the proposed budget during the board’s regular meeting Monday night.

The South Hill Rotary Club will be selling flags to honor heroes as part of their "Fill the Field with Flags" fundraising project
The South Hill Rotary Club will be selling flags to honor heroes as part of their "Fill the Field with Flags" fundraising project. The ten foot flag poles with a 3 x 5 flags will be proudly displayed on the corner of Highway 58 and Peebles Road in front of Discount Furniture Store between Memorial Day through July 4, 2024. You can sponsor a flag to honor or in memory of military or emergency first responders or anyone that is a hero in your life. . The flags will have personalized memorial flag medallions with the South Hill Rotary Clubs name and the name of the person being honored. You can sponsor a flag for $50 the first year and can take the flag at the end of the display time frame or you can have the club store it for you and if you choose to use it again the next year the cost is $25 for renewal. Proceeds support the local Rotary projects. Please have checks and forms in by May 20, 2024.
