Super 10 South Shore high school football rankings: Playoff time
The MIAA high school football playoffs are here. To get there, the last week of the regular season featured plenty of drama. Plymouth South survived a pair of North Quincy-recovered onside kicks to secure a playoff spot. Canton defeated Oliver Ames in a de facto playoff game for both sides in a thriller. Weymouth narrowly edged out Newton North for the final spot in the Division 1 playoffs. Scituate finished the season as the area's lone undefeated team (only 13 teams finished unblemished in the state). The Sailors were one of three local teams to earn the No. 1 seed in their bracket (Div. 4), along with Norwell (Div. 6) and Cohasset (Div. 7). WHERE WE LEFT OFF: South Shore Super 10 football rankings: One undefeated remains On the bubble: Blue Hills (5-2), Canton (3-5), Hingham (5-3), Hull (6-2), Plymouth South (3-5), Randolph (6-2), Weymouth (5-3) 10. The Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association now uses a system, Arbiter Live, to track team schedules and all games must be added to the platform before the Sept. 18 deadline. A week prior, another member school alerted the MIAA about a discrepancy on Boston English's schedule. The game against O'Bryant was not added in by the Sept. 18 deadline, and while the Bulldogs won 12-6, it was counted as a scrimmage instead of an official game. The players and coaches went from winning the program's first Boston City League title since 2021 to finding out the next day that they would missing the postseason. As the contest was counted as a scrimmage, the Bulldogs fell to 4-2 on the year and fell one game short of the state's seven-game minimum for qualifying for
