South Burlington, VT – OnLogic is expanding its global footprint in the Champlain Valley.

The computer manufacturer held a grand opening Monday for its new base of operations in South Burlington, celebrating new growth in Vermont’s business and technology landscape.

OnLogic makes small-form, purpose-built computers, not run-of-the-mill PCs or laptops for the everyday consumer. The company has another U.S. branch in North Carolina, and additional facilities across Europe and Asia, but chose to build its new headquarters here in Vermont, employing roughly 180 people in South Burlington.

Sen. Peter Welch and Rep. Becca Balint attended the opening on Monday to cut the ribbon and share some words of encouragement.

“I’ve got to tell you, I’m awful proud to be a Vermonter in this OnLogic building celebrating the success of all this hard work by so many people in this company and this community,” said Welch after cutting the ribbon.

OnLogic began construction on the 150,000 square foot, $60 million building in the spring of 2022. The facility was up and running by February 2024.

The company’s founders believe the new facility will make OnLogic a player in Burlington’s emerging tech sector, and give the company a chance to grow and collaborate with partners in the area.

“OnLogic could be headquartered anywhere — anywhere in the United States, even in Europe, but we’re here in Vermont because we believe in Vermont, we have faith in Vermont,” said Lisa Groeneveld who founded OnLogic with her husband Roland. “Through innovation, a growth mindset, and a commitment to each other, the city of South Burlington has become a technological hub.”

Rep. Balint thanked OnLogic for its role in bringing the tech industry to Vermont, and driving job growth and industry innovation in the Green Mountain State.

“Its success and continued growth has brought, as we were talking about earlier, hundreds of jobs to this community and helped solidify Vermont’s place as a growing tech hub,” Balint said. “Becoming a global headquarters is such a positive thing not just for this community but for Vermont as a whole.”

The new global headquarters facility has space for engineering, design, and manufacturing, allowing OnLogic to do more under one roof than it ever could before.

Should the company decide to do even more than initially planned, the facility is designed with expansion in mind. The building can accommodate 400 employees, more than double the 180 who currently occupy the space, should OnLogic grow its workforce.
