New burrito spot eyeing Brockton location. When? Where?
Brockton might (might!) be getting a brand-new burrito joint. Emphasis on might. Bubbakoo's Burritos has officially enquired about permitting information to build out the burrito chain's first-ever location in Massachusetts, according to Isaiah Thelwell, the city's planning and economic development administrator. If everything goes as planned, the store would be located at 735 Belmont St. in Brockton . That said, the company hasn't even begun the permitting process, let alone the necessary construction, so any potential ribbon-cutting wouldn't happen for quite some time. Burrito overload: New Brockton Chipotle one step closer to reality. When will it open? What is Bubbakoo's Burritos? Were this to pan out, Brockton would receive a counter-service option for Southwestern cuisine. Similar to a Chipotle or a Qdoba, Bubbakoo's Burritos offers burritos (duh), burrito bowls and salads. But Bubbakoo's menu isn't limited to boilerplate Tex-Mex staples. There's a cadre of chaotic options as well, like a loaded crunch burrito with tater tots, another burrito with pineapple salsa and even a mango habanero taco salad — served in a tostada shell, nonetheless. Founded in New Jersey, Bubbakoo's already has a handful of New England locations — though a location in Brockton would be its first in Massachusetts.

Detour to director: Local filmmaker brings new stories to SouthCoast
DARTMOUTH – After a two-decade detour away from filmmaking, Nick Bernat has recently found himself at the heart of the SouthCoast’s tight-knit creative community of media artists, bringing his distinctive style to a new audience. “I started getting into film when I was pretty young,” he said, adding that he gained more experience when working at a Western Massachusetts cable access channel called M-Pact. “Part of the benefit of volunteering there was you got to use and edit on all the equipment. We shot for local events, but I wanted to make my own stuff.” The original plan was to head for film school, but after different aspects of life pulled him in different directions he ended up graduating with an English degree at UMass Boston. "Which was somewhat related,” he said. “But, I didn't think I was going to be doing film again. It kind of dropped out of my mind for the past 20 years or so.” More: Co-Creative Center is leaving Union Street location. Here's why. Celebrating 25 years: Grimshaw-Gudewicz exhibit is a powerful selection
Getting your Trinity Audio player ready... The title kinda says it all. But not really. How could it?. “25 Years / 40 Artists Reflect on a Quarter Century of Exhibitions,” currently on display at the Grimshaw-Gudewicz Art Gallery, is a dynamic and ambitious sampling of paintings, sculpture, and other works by artists who have previously displayed in one of the largest and quietly elegant galleries on the region. But it is hardly all-encompassing.
