How legendary coach William Booth was honored at the AHSAA Class 6A baseball final
JACKSONVILLE — Despite falling in Game 3 of the Class 6A baseball state championship to Hillcrest Tuscaloosa, the week was an emotional rollercoaster for Hartselle baseball. Coach William Booth passed away Wednesday morning after being absent the majority of the season after falling ill. In 2021, Booth was diagnosed with cancer of the stomach, intestines and liver. The fall of that year, he was cleared of the cancer and watched Hartselle win the 2022 state championship....

Plainview softball comes backs vs. Madison Academy to stay alive in AHSAA tournament
OXFORD — Plainview softball used two home runs in the fifth inning to advance to the AHSAA tournament semifinals in the elimination bracket. The Bears rallied for a 9-5 win over Madison Academy at Choccolocco Park's signature field in the first game on Friday. Plainview will take on St. James in the elimination bracket semifinal game as soon as the field is ready. The winner will take on Opp at 1:30 p.m. Friday, but will need to win twice to take the title.
