SOMERSET — Know when not to go to a local restaurant unless you are wearing a prom dress or a tux?
Most of the proms last several hours and begin in the early evening. The dates often end their elegant evening taking in a late night meal at a local restaurant.
Watch out for the crowd of gowns and tuxes with the following prom dates of Somerset County public school districts.
Berlin Brothersvalley Area School District: The home of the Mountaineers will hold its junior/senior prom on Saturday at The Lodge at Indian Lake.
Conemaugh Township Area School District: Home of the Indians will hold its junior/senior prom May 10.
Meyersdale Area School District: The home of the Red Raiders will hold its prom May 18.
North Star Area School District: The home of the Courgars will hold its prom May 4.
Rockwood Area School District: Home of the Rockets prom was held last Saturday.
Salisbury Elk Township Area School District: Home of the Elks prom will fall on May 17.
Shade Central City Area School District: Home of the Panthers will hold its prom on May 13.
Shanksville Stonycreek Area School District home of the Vikings will hold its prom Saturday.

Somerset: Home of the Golden Eagles, the senior/junior prom is May 10.
Turkeyfoot Valley School District: Home of the Rams, the junior/senior prom will be held Friday, beginning at 5 p.m. with a grand march of prom attendees from 2 to 3 p.m.
Windber Area School District: Home of the Ramblers, the juror/senior prom will be held May 10.
