Man shot in North Chicago; high school placed on soft lockdown
NORTH CHICAGO, Ill. — A man was shot in North Chicago Monday morning which caused a nearby high school to be placed on a soft lockdown. Officers responded to the area of Hervey and 15th on the report of shots fired just after 9:55 a.m. Police located an adult male suffering from at least one gunshot wound to his torso.
17-year-old killed; 3 others hospitalized in Glenview crash
A 17-year-old boy was killed and three other people were critically injured following a two-vehicle car crash in suburban Glenview overnight. According to Glenview Police, the crash took place just after 11 p.m. Sunday in the 1200 block of East Lake Avenue near Meadow Lane in Glenview. Lake Avenue between Waukegan and Wagner Roads were expected to remain closed in both directions through at least 8 a.m. Monday, with officials advising drivers to stay out of the area.
