Lost ship Lac La Belle highlight of Manitowoc Ghost Ships Festival
MANITOWOC – Manitowoc is about to become ground zero for Great Lakes mystery and maritime adventure. This year’s event features immersive 3D virtual‑reality tours of newly discovered shipwrecks, plus a chance to pilot ROVs (remotely operated vehicles) over a simulated wreck in the event center pool. It’s part science, part adventure and all ages are welcome. Maritime history: Whales of the Great Lakes? Remembering whaleback ships developed in Superior, Wisconsin. A major highlight is the recent discovery of the long‑lost steamer Lac La Belle , missing for 150 years and found off the coast of Racine. Wreck hunter Paul Ehorn will present the find in person, sharing the story behind one of the Great Lakes’ newest discoveries. Beyond shipwrecks, the festival
