LongHorn Steakhouse now open and serving steaks for Sheboygan area
TOWN OF SHEBOYGAN – Attendees at the LongHorn Steakhouse grand opening ceremony March 2 were part of a typical ribbon-cutting and photo opportunity, but they also participated in a steak-cutting and team chant, per the restaurant's traditions for new locations. Standing beneath the chain’s iconic Texas longhorn at the restaurant entrance, Dan Hein, chair of the town of Sheboygan, was first to take a bite of the 20-ounce Outlaw Steak, which was later cut up for other attendees to taste. Readers and restaurants: Does Sheboygan want more chain restaurants? The answer isn't so clear. Two chants followed with restaurant staff, local dignitaries and business community members: “We are/LongHorn” and “Whose house?/Our house." Tricia West, new restaurant opening manager with LongHorn Steakhouse, said the chants signal to the community that LongHorn is "here, not just today, but that we're absolutely to here stay." LongHorn opens after breaking ground in March 2025. It is the latest Darden Restaurants Group restaurant and development with Illinois-based S/Point Ventures to open in the town, following Olive Garden’s opening in early 2024 .
