The Coney Glade lift at Snowmass—in its current form—is going away.

The Aspen Skiing Company has announced that the venerable lift will be replaced this summer with the "Coney Express."

The Coney Glade lift is an old friend. I must've ridden it 300 times—at least.

It was particularly useful for folks using the nearby park terrain and the NASTAR race course. The Skico post below details some of the credits due the Coney Glade lift, including hosting Olympians and sport developers.

The lift's replacement (a quad) will start at the Mall in Snowmass and the lift will extend to near its current top terminal. The Coney Express will offer a mid-point, however, which the existing lift lacks.

This new, replacement lift has been given the name “Coneygame,” representing its similarity to the old, now long gone Burlingame lift, which started at the base of the mountain unlike the current Coney Glade lift.
