Police say a Marietta woman charged with vehicular homicide in a deadly Oct. 20 crash in Smyrna was on cocaine, marijuana and fentanyl when she allegedly caused the deadly wreck.

Sandrika Brock, 34, is charged with first degree vehicular homicide, three counts of serious injury by vehicle and DUI, among other lesser charges in the crash, which left one person dead and three more with serious injuries, according to a warrant for Brock’s arrest.

Smyrna Police wrote in the warrant that Brock was driving a 2008 Nissan Sentra westbound on Windy Hill Road, southeast of Dobbins Air Reserve Base, around 11 p.m. on Oct. 20, 2023, when she allegedly caused the crash.

According to the warrant, Brock sped up and changed lanes before turning to the left, crossing out of the inside lane of Windy Hill Road westbound, and driving westbound in the eastbound lane of the road before crashing into a Kia Sportage driven by Jose Cuellar, which was headed eastbound.

Brock was driving about 66 mph while Cuellar was driving 36 mph, the warrant says. Jose and Maria Cuellar were both seriously injured in the crash, the warrant adds, while Leonard Johnson was killed and Brock’s boyfriend and front seat passenger, Aaron Thedford, was also seriously injured.

The warrant does not specify the car in which Johnson rode, nor his relationship to Brock or the other victims.

Brock told police Thedford grabbed the steering wheel from her and forced the vehicle into oncoming traffic, the warrant said.

Police disputed that claim in the warrant, saying all evidence points toward Brock taking no defensive actions and accelerating as the vehicle headed toward the car driven by Jose Cuellar.

Police added that Brock told them “she ‘mashed the gas pedal,’” the warrant adds, and that Brock’s toxicology report after the crash came back positive for cocaine, THC — the main psychoactive compound in cannabis — and fentanyl.

Her warrant indicates Brock was driving without insurance and without a seatbelt on when the crash occurred.

Brock was booked into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center on March 13 and is being held there without bond, according to Cobb County Sheriff’s Office records.
