The unanimous June 30 vote affirms a preliminary vote the week prior. A presentation shown to the council last week placed revenue from paid parking at about $95,000, compared to the operating cost of parking enforcement, listed at about $676,000. There are about 845 parking meters, it stated. The process of removing the parking meters is expected to begin soon, wrote city spokesman Robert Gonzales in a June 30 email to the Caller-Times.
