Isabella Square infrastructure improvement project to start

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — The City of Sioux City Engineering Division announced the start of the Isabella Square Infrastructure Improvements Project.
According to a press release from the city, the project is scheduled to start on or about June 3, with an estimated completion date of mid-August 2024, depending on weather.
The Isabella Square Infrastructure Improvements Project supports the new housing development in the area bound by Myrtle Street, West 5th Street, West 6th Street, and Isabella Street. The project will include the construction of new storm and sanitary mains, water services, and limited sidewalk and street paving.
Construction will be completed in two stages with work along the side of the roadway and the following street closures:
Stage 1A : the intersection of Villa Avenue and West 7th Street will beclosed with a detour along Center Street, West 14th Street, and Isabella Street. The west leg of the intersection at West 6th Street and Myrtle Street will also be closed during this stage with a detour along Isabella Street, West 5th Street, and Center Street.
Stage 1B : the intersection of Myrtle Street and West 5th Street will be closed with a detour along Isabella Street, West 4th Street, and Center Street.
The Isabella Square Infrastructure Improvements Project was awarded to SuBSurfco, LLC on May 6, 2024, in the amount of $682,513.60.
