SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — Siouxland foster parents were recognized Friday night for their hard work.

For the last 20 years, members of the Siouxland community who give their time to help foster children were given thanks with a foster parent appreciation event. More than 80 individuals registered to attend to celebrate the valuable impact these families have on the youth in their community.

“They are there day in and day out for the kids doing things beyond what any of us take time to recognize,” Dawn Luetje, program director at LSI Foster Care and Adoptions, said. “So every year we want to just pour our appreciation out to them and let them know how much we are thankful for what they do.”

The Crittenton Center was also on hand to provide training. There were also prizes given at the door.
