Sioux City students to showcase art at Artworks

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — ArtWorks is returning to Sioux City this spring to showcase artwork from Sioux City Community School District students.

ArtWorks will feature more than 1,000 pieces of original artwork from students in grades transitional kindergarten through 12th grade. The mission is to create a district-wide display to showcase and celebrate students’ achievements in art.

Sioux Center to host three-day long summer celebration

ArtWorks will run from May 2-5 in the Ho-Chunk Centre. It will kick off with a special opening reception and art walk on Thursday, May 2 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The special receptions on May 2 include art walks through the Sioux City Art Center at 4:30 p.m.; ArtWorks – Ho-Chunk, Gallery 103, and the Three Rivers Gallery at 5 p.m.; Art SUX at 6 p.m.; and Vangarde Arts at 7 p.m.

Other times are Friday, May 3 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday, May 4 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Sunday, May 5 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. ArtWorks is free to attend.
