AHSTW Boys and Girls Track Win Cowboy Relays

(Sidney, IA) – The AHSTW Vikes and Lady Vikes were able to dominate at Sidney High School in the Sidney Cowboys/Cowgirls Relays. The Vikes were able to win with a total of 165 points while the Lady Vikes won with 178 points. In the girl’s results, Fremont Mills was just right behind with 177 points, just one point behind the Lady Vikes. Sidney finished with 73, Heartland Christian with 57, and Hamburg with 20. On the boy’s side, Glenwood finished with 149 points, Fremont-Mills 95, Sidney 89, Heartland Christian 39, and Hamburg 4.

Starting with the AHSTW Lady Vikes, they started by featuring multiple first-place finishes including Brooke Lee in first in the 100m dash, Delaney Goshorn in the 200m dash, Makenna Paulsen in the 400m dash, Bella Lamp in the 800m run, and Makenna Paulsen in the 100m hurdles. Bella Lamp finished third in the 100m dash, Brooklyn Buck finished third in the 200m dash, Ava Paulsen finished second in the 800m run, Graycen Partlow finished second in the 100m hurdles, Rylie Knop finished second in the 3000m run, and Addison Carroll finished third in the shot put.

In the team events, AHSTW dominated in the 4x100m relay, first in the 4x400m relay, first in the 4x800m relay, and first in the girl’s distance medley.

Moving to the boy’s side, AHSTW featured multiple first-place finishers including Caleb Hatch in the 100m dash and 800m run, Luke Sternberg in the 200m dash, and the 400m dash, Collin Harder in the 1600m run and in the 3200m run, and Nick Denning in the 800m run. Some of the other top finishers were Nick Denning who finished second 100m dash and the 400m dash, Chase Wheatley finished second in the 800m run, and Ty Nelson finished second in the 400m hurdles.

In the team events, AHSTW finished first in the 4x400m relay, the 4x800m relay, sprint medley, and distance medley.
