APD: 2 arrested in Albany mail theft investigation, 600+ stolen checks found
ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - A 22-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man have been arrested in connection to a months-long mail theft investigation in Albany. According to the Albany Police Department, there were several cases of mail theft throughout the city in 2023 and 2024. The Albany Police Department and the United States Postal Services jointly investigated the thefts.

Hugh Cunningham, a 93-year-old Arlington native, remembers being pulled in a wagon by his sister as they enjoyed the parade. Hilary Halford, another Arlington native, used to ride her pony to the parade and dance in the traditional maypole ceremony. Alice Wims, the Arlington Event Committee chair, said it was a time to enjoy good food, wings and ice cream, and sit around with friends and family, from little kids to great grandparents.
