Veterans, middle school students share breakfast & stories in Natick
Nearly three dozen veterans from the Cold War to the present day came to Kennedy Middle School on Nov. 6 to share their experiences with the eighth-grade class. The 24th annual Veterans Breakfast included a rendition of the national anthem by the school’s Specialty Chorus, a Veterans Day poem, and the distribution of posters, made by the students, to the veterans.

Quincy police say no software vendor chosen to replace Flock | Exclusive
QUINCY ‒ Police have not selected the software that will power the city's next automated license plate reader system, Chief Mark Kennedy said Nov. 5, less than two weeks after Mayor Tom Koch announced the department would move from Flock Safety to Axis Communications cameras and OdinEye software. The conflicting descriptions come as city councilors consider legislation that would require council approval before Quincy deploys license plate readers or other "intrusive surveillance technology." Councilor-at-large Ziqiang Susan Yuan introduced the ordinance Oct. 19. A public hearing is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Nov. 9, and the council could vote on the proposal that night. Mayor said vendor was chosen; police chief says otherwise In his Oct. 27 interview on QATV , Koch described the vendor choice as complete. "We made a decision to go in a different direction, and the new company the chief has chosen has no access to the data," Koch said. "It’s purely for the police department to use." Quincy is tearing out its 50 Flock Safety license plate cameras and replacing them with a new automated reader system built on Axis Communications hardware and software called OdinEye — a switch Mayor Thomas Koch announced without any public input or competitive bidding process.
