Shaftsbury attempted murder suspect surrenders to police
SHAFTSBURY, Vt. — A New Jersey man accused of attempted murder, kidnapping and assault in Vermont turned himself in to police on Friday in Shaftsbury. Vermont State Police said 29-year-old Matthew Osei surrendered to police six months after he allegedly tried to kill a man during a home invasion in October.

WOODFORD — A two-vehicle collision on Vermont Route 9 near Woodford City Road resulted in minor injuries for one passenger on April 25. Vermont State Police reported that at 12:03 p.m., Roy Squiers, 72, of Woodford was driving a 2014 Honda Pilot when he attempted to turn left onto Route 9 from a private driveway and failed to yield to an oncoming 2014 Acura MDX driven by Roberta Slater, 83, of West Wardsboro.
Driver cited for excessive speed on US Route 7 in Bennington
BENNINGTON — A New York man was cited for driving nearly 40 mph over the speed limit on US Route 7, Vermont State Police said. Charles Gregory Nyman, 68, of Atlantic Beach, NY, was clocked by radar traveling north at 94 mph in a zone where the posted speed limit is 55 mph near mile marker 17 at approximately 6:38 p.m. on April 26.
