Huntington Convention Center watchdog leaving; Former Lakewood mayor joining MetroHealth board
The executive director of the nonprofit corporation that oversees the taxpayer-funded Huntington Convention Center of Cleveland is stepping down later this year. George Hillow said in a resignation letter to the Cuyahoga County Convention Facilities Development Corporation’s board chair, Warrensville Heights Mayor Bradley Sellers, that he plans to retire Nov. 1.

A pilot program in Cleveland aims to give funds to child care providers to help get rid of lead hazards. The Cleveland Clinic, Lead Safe Cleveland Coalition and Starting Point announced Monday the launch of the Lead Safe Child Care Pilot Program, which will award 30 selected Cleveland-area child care providers with funds.
Cleveland expected to approve $500K to subsidize affordable 3D-built homes pilot project
CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cleveland City Council is poised to approve spending $500,000 to support a pilot project to build 3D-printed homes in the city. Legislation allocating the money to Lutheran Metropolitan Ministry passed through City Council’s Finance, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee on Monday afternoon and is expected to win approval from the full council at its evening meeting.

Four men are caught at Spillway property with spray paint, alcohol and marijuana: Chagrin Falls police blotter
CHAGRIN FALLS, Ohio – Trespassing, Cleveland Street:. Police responded to a 10:27 p.m. May 3 call to the Spillway property for reported trespassers. Officers detained four men found there along with suspected marijuana and alcoholic beverages. Two Chester Township men, ages 19 and 20, had spray paint cans. They were charged with criminal trespassing and possession of criminal tools. A third Chester Township man, 20, was charged with criminal trespassing and a 19-year-old Lakewood man was charged with criminal trespassing and underage possession of alcohol. All four received criminal summonses with a mandatory court date at Bedford Municipal Court.
