AppHealthCare reports highly contagious stomach virus increasing locally
ASHE — AppHealthCare is reporting an increase in gastrointestinal (GI) illness with symptoms that are consistent with norovirus and are encouraging everyone to take actions to prevent spread of the virus. According to the CDC, there has been an increase in norovirus nationwide and in the southern census region which includes North Carolina. Areas of Roan Mountain to be closed off through summertime for renovations
ROAN MOUNTAIN, N.C./Tenn. (WLOS) — Big changes are in store for Roan Mountain Recreation Area this year, thanks to funding from the Great American Outdoors Act. The U.S. Forest Service says the Recreation Area will be closed during the repairs, and that crews have already started drilling a new well and replacing the current water distribution system.
Blue Ridge Conservancy Announces 2024 Hike Schedule
Blue Ridge Conservancy will offer three guided hikes, one farm tour, one campus cleanup day, and one paddle, from April to October.
