2024 Driftless Music Festival announces diverse lineup that includes Ukrainian band
VIROQUA, Wis. – Organizers for the Driftless Music Festival announced their lineup for the 2024 festival this week and it includes a wide variety of acts including the Ukrainian group Komunna Lux. The festival was started in 2012 and has become a staple of summer events for Viroqua and the region. The event is held every year but did take a couple years off due to COVID.
Deer crashes Viroqua church
VIROQUA, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – Take a look at this a Coulee Region church opened its doors today with one thought. “Oh deer!”. A window was broken at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, in Viroqua, where they found an unexpected parishioner. A deer found in the church appeared to be unhurt and now cleansed of its sins. It looks like the deer took the sign outside, saying, “all visitors welcome,” quite literally.
Vernon County Sheriff asking for help in Hillsboro area burglary case
HILLSBORO, Wis. – Not a lot of detail is being released other than security photos and a location but the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office said in a public statement they need the public’s help in identifying a suspect in a burglary case. Sheriff’s Office says the incident occurred very early in the morning on Thursday, June 6, on Kraemer Road in the town of Hillsboro.
