Jude Rauls Wins 165 Class at Bentonville PowerLift Meet
Woodlawn High School powerlifter Jude Rauls dominated his weight division at the recent Wild Hog Throwdown Power-Lifting Meet sponsored by Texas Strength Systems and USA Powerlifting held in Bentonville, Ark.Rauls had previously won the 148-pound division at the Arkansas High School Power Lifting Association State Champioship Meet this past spring in Monticello. He moved up the 165-pound weight class for his senior year at the Wild Hog Throwdown meet, winning his weight class in the Teen 2 Raw Division.Rauls was able to successfully qualify for a national meet while also setting the four new Arkansas State Powerlifting records in his first meet in the new weight division: total push/pull 325kgs (716lbs); total overall 492.5kgs (1,086lbs); bench press single lift 125kgs (276lbs); and bench press 125kgs (276lbs). Additionally, he squatted 167.5kgs (369lbs) and deadlifted a personal best 200kgs (441lbs).According to the USAPL rankings website, Rauls will be entering his senior year at Woodlawn ranked as the top powerlifter in the state in his weight division for bench press, deadlift and total. He is also ranked second in the state in squat.More impressively, Rauls is ranked among the best in the nation coming in at 15th in bench press, 48th in total, 68th in deadlift, and 84th in squat.Rauls attributed his success to hard work and determination. He thanked Woodlawn coaches Trent Young and Zach Meyer, and the rest of the Woodlawn athletic community for the constant support and encouragement.
