Olympics: Rielly Milne, Evan Olson, and Jacob Plihal Profiles
The next athletes we are taking a look at are all rowers, Jacob Plihal, Evan Olson, and Riley Milne. Jacob Plihal is from Vashon Island and will be making his first appearance on Team USA in the Olympics. Plihal went to Vashon Island High School before heading to Northeastern where he competed for the Huskies. Plihal was the captain of the team and decided to pursue a career in rowing. He secured his spot in the Olympics at the final qualifying event in Lucerne, Switzerland where he won the quarterfinal and semifinal rounds to lock his place in Paris. Plihal will be competing in the men’s single sculls. Plihal has been on five National teams but this is his first time on the Olympic team.
