‘Deadpool & Wolverine’: Every Easter Egg and Marvel Reference
The following post contains SPOILERS for Deadpool & Wolverine. And maybe for Deadpool. And a little Deadpool 2. There’s probably some X-Men spoilers in there too. And Last Year at Marienbad for some reason. That’s a weird one. There are so many Marvel Easter eggs in Deadpool &...
‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ Was Almost an Intentionally Terrible Movie Called ‘Alpha Cop’
Deadpool & Wolverine is filled with prankish humor. But the movie was originally planned to be maybe the biggest prank in movie history. During a recent appearance on Hot Ones, Deadpool & Wolverine star/writer/producer Ryan Reynolds revealed that the “original idea” for the movie was to make Deadpool & Wolverine totally in secret — and to instead release a “fake movie” called Alpha Cop that was “intentionally bad.”
An Extended Cut of ‘The Fall Guy’ Is Coming to Streaming
Not one but two versions of The Fall Guy starring Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt are ready to debut on streaming. If you just want to watch the version that played in theaters last spring, that will be on Peacock in August. At the same time, Peacock will also be premiering an “extended cut” of the movie that they boast features “20 minutes of new scenes not previously seen in theaters.”
Deadpool and Wolverine Are Now Disneyland Characters
The Happiest Place on Earth might be getting a little R-rated?. Or at least it’s getting invaded by a couple of R-rated superheroes. The two stars of Marvel’s new Deadpool & Wolverine will be hanging around Disneyland’s Avengers Campus (technically a part of Disney’s California Adventure, not Disneyland proper) — but only, according to the company, “for a limited time.”
‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ Plot Holes: All the Parts That Don’t Make Sense
The following post contains SPOILERS for Deadpool & Wolverine. I mean, of course it does. How could you have questions about the parts of the movie that don’t make sense before you see it? C’mon. Deadpool & Wolverine is fun. It’s got cameos galore. It’s got references on...
‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ Ending Explained: How It Sets Up ‘Secret Wars’
Don’t let them snikt up on you — the following post contains SPOILERS for the end of Deadpool & Wolverine. Deadpool & Wolverine leaves the Marvel Cinematic Universe changed forever. It doesn’t bring Deadpool into the MCU; it confirms he’s been in it all along as part of the Fox X-Men universe, which is a part of the massive Marvel multiverse. But the film doesn’t end that universe once and for all, it actually reestablishes it — paving the way for it to collide with the Sacred Timeline in future films — perhaps in Avengers: Secret Wars.
Every M. Night Shyamalan Twist, Ranked (and Spoiled!)
If the headline didn’t already make it clear, the following post is going to spoil the endings of a whole bunch of M. Night Shyamalan movies. When you go into an M. Night Shyamalan movie, you know that not everything is as it seems. Not all of his movies end with narrative-shattering twists, but most of them do, and his most iconic third act reveals altered movies, and the way we think about them, forever. Because we love Shyamalan’s movies, because we love a good twist, and because we love to rank stuff, we’ve decided to rank every Shyamalan twist, from The Sixth Sense and beyond.
Deadpool & Wolverine Cameos: The Full List of Marvel Characters Who Appear
The following post contains SPOILERS for Deadpool & Wolverine. SPOILER ALERT: Deadpool and Wolverine are both in this movie. I just thought you might want to know. It’s called Deadpool & Wolverine, but really that is selling the new Marvel movie short. Sure, Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine are the two main characters. But this movie is like a cinematic universe unto itself. It’s got more cameos than It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World. (Kids, ask your parents. Or maybe your grandparents at this point. Or just ask me: It’s an old movie with a lot of cameos! This is a good joke! Trust me.)
Every X-Men Movie Ranked, From Worst to Best
“Mutation: it is the key to our evolution. It has enabled us to evolve from a single-celled organism into the dominant species on the planet.”. Thus begins the very first X-Men movie from the year 2000. Nearly a quarter century later, the big-screen X-Men saga stands as one of the most important superhero franchises in history. Along with Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man, it was one of two massive comic-book-inspired hits that made Hollywood finally take notice of Marvel’s blockbuster potential.
Everything New on Max in August 2024
If you’re a Max subscriber in August, you’re going to get your first crack at a new anime version of Rick and Morty. The show comes from Tower of God’s Takashi Sano and is billed as a series that “follows Rick, Morty and the rest of the Smith family in a new intergalactic adventure.”
‘Terrifier 3’ Trailer Teases a Really Bloody Christmas
Christmas is coming early this year, and it’s going to be a bloody one too, I’m afraid. That’s because the third film in the cult slasher franchise Terrifier is themed around making the Yuletide dead. Art the Clown (played as always by David Howard Thornton) is back and while I don’t know much more about the plot beyond its holiday season setting, I presume it involves assorted mayhem, murder, and buckets of gore.
Disney+, Max, and Hulu Are Now Available in One Bundle
Subscribers to Disney+, Hulu, and Max — or potential customers who might subscribe to one or two (or none) at the moment but were looking to add to their existing lineup of streaming options — can now bundle the three services together for a single price. Starting today,...
Everything New on Netflix in August 2024
Two stars who have headlined Netflix movies separately are teaming up for a big streaming film in August: Mark Wahlberg and Halle Berry will star in The Union, about an ordinary dude from New Jersey (Wahlberg, cast against type — who would believe him as a guy from Jersey instead of Boston?!?) who reconnects with his old high-school girlfriend (Berry) who, in a classic Netflix movie twist, turns out to be an elite secret agent. What could go wrong?
‘Inside Out 2’ Is Now the Biggest Animated Movie Ever
Pixar is back on top. Their latest film, Inside Out 2, is not only a hit, it’s not the top-grossing animated film in history — with a fairly substantial asterisk. Disney and Pixar are touting that Inside Out 2, with its $1.462 billion in grosses worldwide, is now the biggest animated hit ever. Its ticket sales put it ahead of the previous record holder, 2019’s Frozen II, also from Disney, which grossed $1.453 worldwide.

A trailer has been released for the upcoming Bob Dylan biopic, A Complete Unknown, starring Timothee Chalamet. As revealed by the official Disney Parks Instagram account, the Merc With a Mouth will be a new walk-around character at Disney’s California Adventure.

Ready or not, here comes Joker: Folie à Deux, the sequel to the Oscar-winning hit featuring Joaquin Phoenix as the classic DC villain. In the new film, Phoenix is joined by Lady Gaga as a new Harley Quinn and together they look like they really about the upset the balance of power in the DC universe forever.
Everything New on Disney+ and Hulu in August 2024
With The Acolyte concluded, it’s honestly a pretty light month on Disney+. But if you also subscribe to Hulu, you’re getting the return of one of their best shows: Only Murders in the Building starring Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez, as the trio of amateur sleuths turned podcast hosts. On this season, their podcast gets adapted into a movie, and the star-studded cast of guest stars will include Eva Longoria, Eugene Levy, Zach Galifianakis, Kumail Nanjiani, Melissa McCarthy, and Molly Shannon.
