Scranton police patrolling for aggressive drivers

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The Scranton Police Department is cracking down on “aggressive driving,” on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Law enforcement says on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week increased patrol units will be looking for “aggressive drivers.”

According to Scranton police “Aggressive Driving Enforcement” began Tuesday, April 23 from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., in the South Scranton and Minooka areas.

Police say officers will continue patrolling on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. in the “High Works” area of Keyser Avenue.

Scranton police say, “Aggressive Driving Enforcement” will also be patrolling on Wednesday, April 24 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the North and South sections of Main Avenue, Luzerne Street near West Scranton High School, and Washburn Street.

The Scranton Police Department urges drivers to use caution in these areas, especially near school buses.

According to police, aggressive driving patrols will focus on all offenses listed within the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code, but the main point of the enforcement is to remember to drive safely.
