North Carolina man arrested on attempted kidnapping charge
A North Carolina man was jailed last week after he allegedly attempted to kidnap a juvenile girl in the parking lot of a Williamson convenience store. According to Mingo County Magistrate Court documents, on June 1, officers were approached by the juvenile victim and a collaborating witness who stated that Moises Garcia Hernandez, 48, of Sparta, had initiated the incident at the 7-Eleven by “saying inappropriate comments to her and [grabbing] her trying to get her to go with him.”

BOONE — Hardin Creek is a headwater stream in the New River watershed within the town of Boone. The stream has experienced significant impacts from growing impervious cover (roads, parking lots, rooftops, and other surfaces that prevent rain from soaking into the ground).
