Sayre, Pa. — Precursor chemicals for making methamphetamine were found in trash bags pulled from the front of a Bradford County home.

Sean Hall, 44, of Sayre was charged with various counts stemming from the operation of a methamphetamine lab out of a home near the 100 block of Linden Street, County Detective David Hart said.

Investigators received information about Hall making and selling methamphetamine in January of this year, according to a complaint. Police said an investigation uncovered the following:

Hall’s name was put through a database tracking the sales of over-the-counter medications containing pseudoephedrine—a precursor chemical for making methamphetamine. Detective Hart called the results of the database tracker “astounding” in the affidavit.

Hall allegedly attempted 47 purchases of pseudoephedrine over a year. Of those attempts, 29 were successful. Investigators said the total amount of pseudoephedrine purchased by Hall was more than 70 grams.

Police gave a timeline of the investigation from December of 2023 to April 10, 2024. Detectives conducted three trash pulls on a property near the 100 block of Linden Street over that time span and found precursor chemicals and paraphernalia in each pull, according to Hart. Items included boxes of Equate Sinus, prescription bags addressed to Hall, gas line antifreeze, aerosol cans of butane, Lithium batteries, and empty jars of water remover. Latex gloves and empty soda bottles with unknown substances on them were also discovered, said Hart.

Hall is being charged with operating a methamphetamine lab, possessing phenylpropanolamine or a precursor substance with intent to unlawfully manufacture, and deposits, stores, or disposes chemical waste. He is being held at the Bradford County Prison on $200,000 monetary bail.
