Justin Romero arrested
Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — Forty-one year old Justin Romero of Santa Fe has been arrested on multiple charges of burglary and criminal damage to property. SFPD claims Romero stole thousands of dollars worth of merchandise from two businesses on Palace Avenue in Santa Fe, totaling more than $200,000 in stolen merchandise, along with $30,000 worth of property damage.The burglaries occurred on Apr. 20th and Apr. 28th. After arresting Romero, police were able to recover $64,000 worth of stolen merchandise. The investigation continues while the District Attorney’s office works to keep Romero detained pending trial.

Police charge inmate after DNA links him to 2018 robbery
May 23—A 19-year-old inmate at the Santa Fe County jail was charged Monday in connection with an armed robbery in the city more than four years ago based on DNA evidence. Isaiah Zamora, who has several criminal counts pending, including vehicle theft and evading law enforcement, faces new counts of armed robbery, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and shoplifting in a Nov. 4, 2018, robbery at a Family Dollar store, according to online court records.

Attorneys file motion to dismiss case against 'Rust' armorer
Attorneys for "Rust" armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed filed a motion Thursday to dismiss her case in the fatal on-set shooting of the film's cinematographer. Gutierrez-Reed was charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter in connection with the death of Halyna Hutchins, 42, on the New Mexico set of the Western in October 2021. Actor Alec Baldwin was practicing a cross-draw when the gun fired, striking the cinematographer and director Joel Souza, who suffered a non-life-threatening injury. Baldwin also faced two counts of involuntary manslaughter over the shooting death, though the charges were dropped last month.

Authorities in Farmington have been probing for motivations behind Monday’s deadly attack by the high school senior, amid indications from relatives of prior mental health issues.
