Canyon Country Man Arrested After Strangling, Pushing Victim

An assault suspect was arrested Sunday after he allegedly pushed and strangled an individual in Canyon Country.

Around 9:30 p.m. Sunday, deputies responded to the 14000 block of Daisy Meadow Drive in Canyon Country regarding a battery call, said Deputy Kabrina Borbon, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“During the investigation, deputies learned the suspect physically assaulted the victim by strangling and pushing the victim,” Borbon said. “The suspect and victim know each other.”

The victim sustained injury and was medically treated by fire.

Gerald Doe, 30, from Canyon Country, was later arrested for felony assault.

Doe was booked into the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s  Station jail and remains in custody as of Tuesday morning, Borbon said.
