There have been several tarantula sightings in Fort Worth, according to iNaturalist, a crowdsourcing species website. The majority of tarantula sightings in Tarrant County have been on the west side in cities such as White Settlement and Benbrook.

Fort Worth has grown by more than 20,000 residents between 2022 and 2023, according to the latest Census Bureau data. The city grew from 957,000 residents to 978,000 residents, an increase of 2.2 percent. The only city in Texas to grow more than Fort Worth is San Antonio, which grew in population by 21,970, compared to Fort Worth which grew by 21,365.
