One injured after 12th tornado of 2024 hits West Virginia
WOOD COUNTY, WV (WVNS) — One person was injured on Thursday night during what was confirmed as the twelfth tornado to hit West Virginia in 2024. The Charleston, WV National Weather Service crew surveyed and then confirmed an EF1 tornado with max wind speeds up to 90 miles per hour touched down in parts of Wood County on Thursday, May 9, 2024 just after 8:15 PM. The tornado touched down just east of Parkersburg and traveled 3.4 miles. The tornado’s path width was 250 yards, which is more than two football fields.
Ravenswood falls to Buffalo in Game 2 of regional
RAVENSWOOD — Buffalo played errorless softball here Tuesday night in game two of the Class A, Region IV best-of-three series and stayed alive after leaving town with a 5-3 victory against host Ravenswood, which won Monday’s opener 2-1.
