HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - Most areas hopped quickly to cloud-free skies, as the early valley fog in the southern coalfields did not last long. We’ll be cruising through to the midday hours under fantastic conditions, with temperatures rising to the 70s. A weak front will be dropping southward through our region later this afternoon and evening and should generate a few showers -- not a full garden-watering. A couple of rumbles of thunder can be heard in the eastern mountains where upsloping can help enhance ordinary showers. This front will keep the wind-flow moving north-to-south later today, keeping the heat you would typically expect in June at arms-length. By sunset, most of the isolated showers will fade, and the returning clearness of the night will serve to drop temperatures back down through the 50s by tomorrow morning.
