Manchester Town Meeting and Capital Projects
A note about capital projects and water meters, specifically. First, I would like to thank everyone for a successful town meeting and their support on DPW Town Meeting articles and continued support for DPW projects. As with most things at Town Meeting a lot of the work happens before the actual meeting and the major capital items on this year’s warrant and subsequent ballot vote are no exception. We (DPW personnel, other Town staff, Select Board, Finance Committee and others) spent innumerable hours doing the requisite research, study, planning, benchmarking, engineering and deliberation before this bond article (or any other capital request) made it to town meeting floor.

Cooper: Unless you support hate speech, walk away from it
When Nixon invaded Cambodia in 1972, I marched with the crowd to Independence Square in Philadelphia. Listening carefully, I realized they were deadly serious, no hyperbole at all. This was not the kind of activity I wanted to be involved in, even if those with such an intent were a small minority. That was the only protest I attended.
