McIntyre To Take Over Boekenoogen Brand and Tasting Room
May 7, 2024 – There’s a family thing going on in the Santa Lucia Highlands involving the Boekenoogen’s and the McIntyre’s. It’s all good. McIntyre has purchased the Carmel Valley tasting room, owned and operated by the Boekenoogen family for nearly 20 years, along with the wine inventory.

Family of a local beloved waitress finally getting closure after she was murdered in 2002
SALIANS, Calif. (KION-TV) – The family of a woman who was murdered over 20 years ago, is finally getting some closure. Loretta Paluszynski was found stabbed to death in her Salinas home in 2002. On April 11, 2024 the suspect in her death, Juan Gabriel Nunez, pled guilty to second degree murder, first degree burglary and felony child abuse, according to the Monterey County District Attorney.

Over the past few months, Salinas residents have seen an increase in street vendors in high-traffic areas, including food trucks. This can make it easy to grab a bite to eat, but also comes with issues. Residents have been calling city officials to report things like litter and oil on the streets.

SALINAS, Calif. — Renovations on the historic El Rey Theater on Main Street in Salinas are still in progress. It's been undergoing work since 2019. According to the owner, Kurt Mayer, he bought the building in 2019 for $350,000.
