St. Michaels commissioners honor Eagle Scout

St. Michaels — On Wednesday evening, the Commissioners of St. Michaels voted to approve a certificate of achievement for Jacob James Villefort for achieving the rank of Eagle Scout.

Villefort has been a Scout for 12 years, earning 23 merit badges and holding leadership positions of control leader, quartermaster and assistant senior patrol leader in Troop 741.

Commission President David Breimhurst said that this was the third Eagle Scout he was honoring this year and that Troop 741 has been doing a great job producing Eagle Scouts.

At the meeting Wednesday, the commissioners also:

Approved the permit for the Wine Fest, a wine tasting event, which will take place at Old Brick Inn, Kemp House from April 26 to 28.Approved the job description for a water utility supervisor job.Held a public hearing on resolution 2024-01 to annex certain lands owned by the Commissioners of St. Michaels on Boundary Lane together with a portion of particular real property owned by the state of Maryland, collectively compromising 4.633 acres of land, more or less, into the town of St. Michaels. The hearing will be held open until May 22 to accept additional written public comments.Held a different public hearing on an ordinance for a zoning map amendment for the same property. The hearing will be kept open until May 22 to accept additional written public comments.
