The Loop restaurant opens in World Golf Village area
The Loop restaurant announced April 25 it is open in the World Golf Village area of St. Augustine. The Loop is at 150 Village Commons Drive, Suite 105, in the Publix-anchored Parkway Village at St. Johns shopping center. It is off International Golf Parkway about 2.2 miles southwest of the World Golf Village entrance.
St. Augustine humane is helping Princess Charlie find his furever home!
Princess Charlie, an 8-month-old tuxedo female kitty in search of her forever home, exudes friendliness and charm, particularly with children. Dubbed PC for short, she found herself abandoned at the St. Augustine Homeless Coalition’s food Pantry before being rescued and brought to the St. Augustine Humane Society by a member of the TNR community. Thanks to the TNR program, Princess Charlie has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and is now eagerly awaiting adoption.

Friends of The Amp mark 15 years
The St. Augustine Amphitheatre is a state-of-the-art, internationally recognized performing arts venue consistently ranked amongst the top amphitheaters worldwide. Musical icons including Bob Dylan, Stevie Nicks, John Legend, Robert Plant, Aretha Franklin, Willie Nelson, Bonnie Raitt and hundreds more have taken the stage. Locally, a group of volunteers has been working to bring greater visibility and usage by the community.
Exhibit explores 100-year history of art association
With 100 years of history in the books – or on the canvas – the St. Augustine Art Association (STAAA) is celebrating its centennial with an art show spanning the century. “Reflections” explores the storied history of the association by featuring works from past and present artists. One of the longest operating art associations in the nation, it was founded in 1924 and comprised of members, some who helped change the course of art in the nation. These artists were forward thinkers who saw the importance of incorporating diversity into the organization.

Lotus a broad brushstroke of culinary genius
I was immersed in the adventure of dining at Lotus long before I arrived. Open since late 2023, Lotus’s reputation had been circulating through the grapevine with raves coming from regional chefs, visitors to St. Augustine that fortunately landed in this exquisite new restaurant and local foodie friends. I quickly realized that finding my own voice to describe Chef Barry Honan's distinctive style was going to be a challenge!
Artist’s work has photographic quality
Shan Fannin of Austin, Texas, was the latest artist in Richard C. Kessler’s “Next Originals” series to exhibit at the Grand Bohemian Gallery in St. Augustine. Fannin is a photorealist painter specializing in depictions of cars, trucks, motorcycles, airplanes and boats. She captures shiny chrome and rustic metals with equal skill. Even so, she puts her own ideas into the image and says her paintings are 90% realistic and 10% abstract.
