Absarokee Days beats the heat
Absarokee Days organizers are calling this year’s event a success despite record-breaking heat that kept crowds a bit thinner than in years past. “You can control everything but the weather,” said event organizer and Absarokee Area Merchants Association representative Debbie Skiles. Unusually hot temperatures over the weekend meant the event wasn’t quite as packed as in previous years, but the heat did nothing to slow down the celebration.

We remain under a Weather Alert this evening due to excessive heat and hazardous air quality. Highs today reached triple-digits in Miles City, 90s in Billings and Great Falls, and 80s in Butte and Kalispell. Showers and thunderstorms began developing in southwestern and south-central Montana this afternoon. Afternoon windspeeds remained minimal across the region, with recorded gusts to 33 mph in Cut Bank.
