Maine deputy ruled justified in shooting a man multiple times in York
AUGUSTA, Maine — The Maine Attorney General's Office has ruled that police were justified when they shot a man in York multiple times last year. On Nov. 7, 2023, a sergeant with the Eliot police department reached out to the commander of the Southern Maine Special Response Team for help arresting Nicholas Goodwin, who was wanted for domestic violence terrorizing with the use of a firearm and violating conditions of release. Police say Goodwin was also known to carry a gun and had a significant criminal history.
