Rails Complete Section Three-Peat With Championship Shutout
CLOQUET, Minn.- For the third straight year, the Proctor softball team is headed to the state tournament, defeating Rush City 2-0 in the Section 7AA Championship on Thursday. The Rails reached the section title in a similar fashion, defeating Rush City 2-0. Previous to their two matchups against the Tigers, Proctor took down Aitkin 4-2 before beating Greenway/Nashwauk-Keewatin 7-1 in the Section 7AA Quarterfinal.
Cambridge Primary, Intermediate students honor veterans during fourth ‘Silent Dismissal’
For the fourth year, students, teachers, and staff of Cambridge Primary and Intermediate Schools honored local veterans on the Friday before Memorial Day with a “Silent Dismissal.” One by one, classes are let out of the building at the end of the day and proceed past lines of guest veterans in complete silence, minus their shuffling feet.
ECFE - Not just your average preschool
In 1974, Minnesota started the first ECFE (Early Childhood Family Education) program. Fifty years later, the program, which is designed for any pre-kindergarten aged kid and their parents, has blossomed into serving over 310,000 children and caregivers annually. Locally, Cambridge-Isanti Schools has offered an ECFE program since the mid 1980s.
North Branch Teacher Apprenticeship Model awarded $100,000 grant
Members of the North Branch Area Education Foundation (NBAEF) and leaders from North Branch Area Public Schools (NBAPS) gathered to celebrate the announcement that the partnership was selected to receive a Labor Education Advancement Program (LEAP) grant from the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry in support of the North Branch Area Public Schools (NBAPS) Viking Teacher Apprenticeship Program.
