Road watch: What's on tap for the road commission this week?
The following projects are slated for the week by the St. Clair County Road Commission. All projects are weather dependent. Casco/Ira Township – Bethuy Road at Marine City Highway will be under construction for intersection improvements. Bethuy will be a fully closed at the intersection, and Marine City Highway traffic will be maintained with temporary traffic signals. This project will begin the week of May 20 and continue through late June.

Lapeer Ave. shooting trial now set for Oct. 8
The trial for a teenager accused of fatally shooting a man in a Port Huron parking lot last July has been delayed until October. Carmello Wilson's trial was originally set to start in June after multiple delays. No explanation for the most recent delay was available in court records, and neither the St. Clair County Prosecutor's Office nor Wilson's attorney responded to a request for comment. A note in the court record states the delay was requested by the defendant and his attorney, Sharon Parrish.

Trev’s Mobile Bike Shed, a new business serving the Blue Water Area and beyond, is now accepting customers.
