ROCKVILLE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Lots of growing is underway at one garden near Rockville.
The Rotary Parke County Community Garden is located on U.S. 41 just south of town.
People can rent a 15 by 18 foot plot for $20 and grow their own fruits and vegetables.

All 30 of the plots have been rented for this year.

Rotary members say the garden helps promotes good nutrition and community involvement. Some of the food grown at the garden is also donated to a local food pantry.

Those who helped create this garden in 2018 are proud of what’s been accomplished.

“We thought it was a place where the community could really be proud of and we tried to make it beautiful with the white posts,” said Community Garden Committee member Judy Brook.

They encourage people to stop by and visit and ask questions.

“We give a lot of garden tours and they are fun. We label stuff and people learn a lot here,” added Community Garden Committee member Larry Williams.
