PREPS: Hononegah baseball tosses second no-hitter of the season in 11-0 win over Rockford Jefferson

ROCKFORD — The Hononegah baseball team tossed its second no-hitter of the season as Alexandre Skrade and Ian Blankenship combined for 13 strikeouts, four walks and no hits.

And the offense provided plenty of support by smacking 11 hits and taking advantage of seven errors by Rockford Jefferson (1-10, 0-3) to surge the Indians to an 11-0 win on Monday evening.

After three scoreless innings, Hononegah (8-5, 3-0 NIC-10) scored two off an error in the fourth and made it 4-0 in the fifth with the help of Drake Broege’s RBI double.

Bryce Ewing hit a one-run single and Seymour a one-run triple, which he then scored on via an error. Zander Koch and Justin Hodges added one-run singles in the seventh.

Seymour and Jakob DeLeo each had two of the Indians’ 11 hits.

Skrade started and went 5 1-3 innings while allowing four walks and 10 strikeouts. Ian Blankenship tossed 1 2-3 frames of relief with three strikeouts and no base runners allowed.

• BIG FOOT 22, CATHOLIC CENTRAL 6: The visiting Chiefs led 12-6 before a 10-run sixth inning brought an early end to Monday’s game as the visiting Chiefs rolled to a big non-conference win over the Hilltoppers (1-3) in Burlington.

The Chiefs (3-3) drew 11 walks and recorded 15 hits in the offensive outburst. Will Wojcik smacked three doubles and brought in four runs while brother Brady went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs. Connor Weeks was 3-for-3 with two runs and three RBI. Owen Smith went 2-for-4 with a double while Josh Martinez had two hits.

Brady Wojick pitched three innings of relief and allowed two runs (one earned) on three hits with five walks and two strikeouts.

• HORICON 16, PARKVIEW 0: The Marshmen lead 4-0 after two innings and 10-0 after four before a six-run fifth put them in line for the strong win over the hosting Vikings in Trailways-South Conference action on Monday.

Parkview’s (0-7, 0-6) Mathias Treinen, Oliver Friedrich, Gage Burrell and Louis Nath all hit a single in the four-hit performance. Owen Muche paced Horicon (2-2, 2-2) as he went 2-for-4 with four RBI. Gehrig Grenawalt started and allowed seven earned runs on seven walks and three hits in 2 2-3 innings.

• SOFTBALL: BADGER 4, BELOIT MEMORIAL 3: After Amya Clark smacked a one-out triple in the top of the seventh and Chesney Bishop brought her home on a groundout, it looked like the Purple Knights were gearing up to force extra innings.

But the Badgers’ Jazmine Laubringer smacked a walkoff single in the bottom half of the frame after a single and walk to help down visiting Southern Lakes Conference opponent Beloit on Monday.

The Knights (3-5, 1-4 SLC) gave up three runs in the first before Abigail Middleton’s RBI single and Jasmine Smith’s one-run groundout made it 3-2.

Beloit was outhit 10-6 by Badger (1-4, 1-3) with six different batters recording a hit. Clark scored two runs. Rilynne Cleland went three innings and allowed three runs on five hits. Delayna Hyser struck out four in three frames but allowed an earned run on four hits.
