Underwater no more: Rockford homeowner lists house for more than double 2003 price
In 2003, Rockford resident Kris Ducett and her husband bought a spacious 5-bedroom, 2.5-bath home on Jonquil Place for $145,000. The home was ideal for the family of six. But by 2014 the couple was among millions of others in the country whose homes were underwater and among thousands of homeowners experiencing the same in Rockford, which was named the underwater mortgage capital of the U.S. in 2013.
