Two Rockford men jailed after shooting at each other in an argument: police

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Rockford Police say an argument Saturday morning escalated into a shooting between two men that landed both in jail.

According to police, officers were called to the 2200 block of 6th Street around 2:40 a.m. and were flagged down by James Jones, 23, who had been shot in the leg.

Investigators learned that Jones and Victor Lloyd, 28, were involved in a shootout after an argument between them.

Police said a loaded handgun was found inside a vehicle.

Jones was charged with Aggravated Discharge of a Weapon.

Lloyd faces charges of Aggravated Discharge of a Weapon, Aggravated Battery with a Firearm, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon by a Felon.

Both men were incarcerated in the Winnebago County Jail pending the results of a pretrial detention hearing.
