MMCRU avoids sweep, falls to G-LR in four
MARCUS — The MMCRU volleyball team avoided a sweep with a narrow 26-24 win in the third set against War Eagle Conference opponent George-Little Rock, but ended up falling in four sets on Sept. 28. The visiting Mustangs edged out a 25-23 win in the first and pulled away for a 25-13 win in the second before the Royals got the win in the third to avoid the straight set loss. George-Little Rock took the match with a 25-14 win in the fourth.

Gramstad is GPAC football offensive player of the week
Northwestern quarterback Jalyn Gramstad is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Offensive Player-of-the-Week. Gramstad, a junior from Lester, Iowa, threw for a new career-high of 397 yards with four touchdowns in the Red Raider 42-0 road win over Mount Marty. He completed 73.5% percent of his passes with a long of 64 yards, averaging 11.7 yards per completion. It marks the first time in his career he has thrown for over 300 yards in a game. Additionally, he added one rushing score and 22 yards on the ground as he had a hand in five of the six Red Raider touchdowns.
Aiden Tweet is this week's Athlete of the Week
Aiden Tweet, a junior on the Adrian-Ellsworth football team, is this week’s Radio Works Athlete of the Week. Tweet carried 20 times for 147 yards from the quarterback position and ran for three touchdowns in the Dragons’ 19-15 homecoming win Friday over Murray County Central. His touchdowns were scoring scampers of 12, 37 and 16 yards, with the final TD coming on a 4th-and-11 play that put Adrian-Ellsworth ahead to stay.
