ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Now with the rain done for the day, we’ll see temperatures stay mild into the 50s for most overnight into Sunday.

We will see temperatures soar into the mid 70s for our highs on Sunday. We’ll see showers and storms throughout the day mixed in with fairly cloudy skies. To the south closer to the Southern Tier clearer skies will allow for more instability to build leading to the chance of stronger but not inherently severe storms closer to southern Livingston, southern Ontario and Yates counties.

A cold front will move through the area Sunday night into Monday morning. This will make for a messy day temperature wise. As the front settles across our region there’s a chance we’ll all be in the 70s, or there’s a chance that north of the thruway we’ll be in the 50s and maybe just hit 60 in the afternoon. There’s a strong lean in our forecast to the latter. Rainfall wise at least the trend has been downward but a few morning showers and maybe some heat of the day pop-up rain/thunder south of the front remain possible.

Rain and thunderstorm chances grow again into Tuesday as temperatures soar back into the low 70s this time for everyone. We’ll see widespread chances for rain here with everyone having a shot at a few thunderstorms as well. Overnight we’ll dry out into Wednesday but Tuesday will be a day for the rain gear.

Wednesday and Thursday look primarily dry with temperatures expected to hover right around the 70° for both days. Rain chances are reintroduced Friday and into next weekend along with fading temperatures. Let’s finish this weekend out first and then we can start talking about the next one more.
