ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — After what feels like a lifetime of waiting, Foreigner finally made it into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame — and News 8 was able to speak with the former singer of the group!

Lou Gramm, a legend in the Rochester area, made it into the Hall of Fame with his band. This announcement comes after Gramm said he would retire from performing.

“It was a relief because we had been eligible for a good long time and we were wondering if we would ever be in the Rock Hall of Fame,” Gramm told News 8. “It’s something we’ve aspired to be part of it and it’s very satisfying now that we are voted in and I don’t think we could be any happier.”

Gramm also said he and Foreigner are allowed to play two songs at the ceremony. The songs have not been confirmed yet.

This year’s class of inductees not only includes Foreigner, but also Ozzy Osbourne, Cher, Peter Frampton, and Mary J. Blige, among others. The induction ceremony will take place on October 19, 2024.
