The sweet sounds of soul, hip hop, gospel and rock will fill city streets later this summer.

Tickets are on sale for the 29th Rochester Summer Soul Music Festival, set for Saturday, Aug. 24, at Innovative Field Downtown.

Mayor Malik D. Evans in a news release called the event "one of the premier Soul and R&B music festivals in the Northeast and the perfect conclusion to Rochester’s outstanding events season."

Here's what to know.

Baltimore group Dru Hill will headline Summer Soul festival

The festival will kick off at 3 p.m. with performances by Nate & Renee, Jamall Youngblood, Anthony Dounte, Dawn & Daze, Nyk Tyrell, LunaSolChild, Regina Bell and Ruff Endz.

Saturday’s headliner will be award-winning Baltimore-based R&B group Dru Hill, who formed in 1992 and are known for songs including "Never Make a Promise," "In My Bed" and "How Deep Is Your Love."

Also from Baltimore, Ruff Endz is a rhythm-and-blues duo who formed in the early '90s with hits such as "Someone to Love You" and "No More."

Local food, drink and merchandise vendors will be at the festival.
